In accordance with the Provincial government’s new COVID-19 protocol (as stated Sept.1, 2021), all PYP and AGM attendees will be required to be fully vaccinated and provide proof of their vaccination status to attend the event. To that end, when picking up your name badge you will be required to show proof of complete vaccination.
As of September 22, 2021, Ontarians will need to be fully vaccinated (two doses plus 14 days) and provide their proof of vaccination as well as proof of identity (such as driver’s licence or health card) to access certain public settings and facilities. The only exemptions are for unvaccinated people with medical exemptions and people under 12 years old will also be permitted to enter these settings.
We are very excited about this year’s in-person, combined Perfecting Your Practice® (PYP) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) event!
As the first in-person conference since the pandemic hit, we understand that you may be wary; but rest assured, we are working closely with the Resort to ensure all protocols are and will be followed.
As Government mandates are continuously changing, and with the number of fully vaccinated people increasing exponentially, we are very optimistic that this year’s event will go off without a hitch!
In the unlikely event that COVID-19 protocols require us to cancel the event, the DAO will gladly refund your PYP registration.
This means some members will be in attendance in-person and some attending remotely.
Stay tuned for details on the hybrid AGM. If you have already registered to attend the AGM, you are still considered registered for the in-person event. No further registration is required.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you in person this September!

The era of digital dentures has arrived; are you interested in joining this market? Remember what matters most; FUNCTION. Learned from years of refining traditional best practices of conventional denture processing, a digital denture workflow now eliminates many of the laborious and tedious steps of manual production. Instead of pencils and waxing tools, digital tooling is used for model analysis, occlusal set-ups, smoothing of wax, and prosthetic fabrication. However, modern digital platforms allow for integration of traditional techniques as well to give you control of the workflow, making denture fabrication easier, not harder. Concepts of ‘Freedom of Centric”, lingualized occlusion, balance and function, combined with theory of patient / lab procedures to streamline denture set-ups, reducing errors and post insertion adjustments to increase profitability and patient satisfaction will also be addressed. Whether a small or large lab, dental technician or denturist, digital denture technologies can be smoothly assimilated into a thriving removables environment.

Get Your Questions Answered!
The Executive Director of The Denturist Association of Canada (The DAC), Mallory Potter, will be on hand to provide insights to help you in your billing processes. Do you have a treatment plan for a patient that you are unsure what procedure codes to use and in which way? Was a pre-determination or claim rejected or denied, but you know the patient has/had coverage? Do you have general questions about the Fee Guide and require direction? She can answer many Frequently Asked Questions and provide advice from insurance companies like ESI for the Non-Insured Health Benefits Program.
DACnetTM: The DAC, with the support of Provincial Associations (PA’s), insurance carriers, network suppliers and software vendors, has established a network that allows you to submit claims and pre-treatment plans electronically (EDI).
